Default SP 500 ho gun mount

I've just made a gun mount for my 500ho. I'm quite pleased with it for the time being and it was very easy to make. It utilises the steel chanels that run across the front rack, I don't know if the xp has these so it might not work for you. The design requires no holes or marks on the bike itself and doesn't rely on Lock and Ride fastners as there are no holes in the front plastics.

The wing nuts simply clamp a washer below onto the steel rail to keep it all in place.

If it all works out well I'll replace the ply for plastic and the wing nuts for eccentric levers.

I have a rifle rest and lamp holder in the works also.

About the same as I did on our 850, grips look the same as mine. Watch for the rubber bands breaking easy, several people complained about them on a hunting site I read.

Never liked any of those type of mounts. We all just lay or guns across the trunk and run a bungee or 2 over them. That way the racks are clear to lay deer on them and you can bungee the guns down on top of the heaps of sweet, sweet venison.

That is if you can get yourself any deer.
