Default front receiver

Has anyone fitted a receiver hitch to the front of their bike??

I have old 2000Warn on an old bike that I would like to be able to use with the new one. A receiver hitch on the front would solve the problem neatly. I realise I'd have to run more cables if I wanted to swap it to the back.

I've been looking at portable mount plates to fit the winch into a 1 1/4inch receiver.

Any comments?? The bike is a 2010 500ho

I have 1" recievers on the front and back of mine, built backets for the bumpers, carry the winch in storage box and have it wired to both ends, also have built 2 racks that I can carry, work well for camping ect when you carry more gear.

Just curious...Why do you need a front receiver to mount the winch on the front...Why don't you get the right bracket and mount it in the stock position...

It would enable the use of a demountable winch which could be easily moved to the rear of the ATV as and when required. All depends what you do with your winch equipped ATV.....Although I'll probably go for a fixed front and use an old A2000 I have as a demountable for the rear.

Oh ok...I didn't read where you wanted the winch to be portable ...I understand though...And yes I agree the XP winches are too low....But I guess it is either that or have the radiator low...Good luck...

Where do the winches mount on the XP? Mine is a 500 ho and I was assuming any winch would fit above the rad?
