front receiver
#11
I built a permant ball hitch on mine, didn't have any box beam around or I would have made a receiver.
My design was just cobbled together with materials I had laying in the scrap pile behind the barn. It works very well for what I need it to do.
The main flaw with it is you loose a little clearance on the front end. It isn't a big deal when I am moving trailers around the yard, but it is the first thing to hit on a rutted up ditch on the trails.
I don't like the loss of clearance with it and have been thinking about going at this a little different way. I also want to add a brush guard and have been thinking of just building a receiver off of it.
