i was wondering, my front axles on my 99 polaris sportsman are striped , the splines on the shaft are striped on the boot end. i was wondering if i could weld it together if it would hurt anything? does it have to move in and out in the boot? or just around? any help would be great

 

It does slide a little as the suspension moves, so welding isn't a good idea. Look on e-bay for a used axle.

 

Call the cv-man,1-800-338-2326 he has complete axles, much less$ than dealers.

 

i agree i would replace before i would weld them. imo
