Default 02 Trailblazer wont start when hot

had some issues this weekend, starts fine when cool but not when hot, while hot is sounds like its not getting fuel, first thought was a dirty carb so im taking it apart and cleaning it, but we towed it a mile or so on the trail and tried to start it and it fired right up. it started this morning fine but seems boggy. compression was checked recently and is good, but im sure it sat for a while with old gas, i just purchased it last fall.

thinking its the carb but also wondering about the cdi? any other similar issues people had like this and what it was?

thanks

Hoyt

what was the compression when you checked it? they have more when it's cold and would start harder when it's warm. also make sure the air vents are clear and not piched as well.

compression was like 115 psi I think, i dont think its a compression issue, after he got it running it was running fine but wanted to kill when stopped, wouldnt idle. this machine has very low hours on it. I'm going through the carb this week if it still acts up i will recheck the compression. but i noticed a few other brands that had similar issues with bad cdi's

ya 115 would be fine for sure. did you check the plug to see how it looks? wondering if running rich or lean maybe to point in the right direction.

I got a 110 PSI, just grabbed the plug i pulled out of it on the trail and compared it to the pic in the manuel and its running lean.

no mods, just a Uni filter that was on it not sure if it was rejetted or not but i got the oiled up real good, not sure the uni would cause the lean issue?
