Trailblazer 250 what to watch out for?

For the most part, they're fairly trouble free. That being said, it's also 10 years old so a lot of any problems you might have will depend on the maintenance it's received prior to your purchase. Two things I'd check would be the color of the spark plug, and if you have a compression tool, check that just to see where it stands.
I'd also take a good look at the chain to see if all the o-rings are intact, and a look at the sprockets as well.
Nice little quad, and it really doesn't take a whole lot to pep it up a little too. I'm guessing you son is no different than the rest of us were at that age. Once he gets comfortable with it, he'll be asking about making it faster too.

you picked a good one! my son has a trailblazer 250. Scootergptx and others have helped me out a lot. he's giving you the same advice he's given me and others. so far, no problems that this forum can't handle. it's a very faithful machine. just get your son to realize the limitations of the transmission/clutch. you don't want to burn it up while out having fun. that'll ruin his day and yours!
