Easiest way is just to remove side panels, the right plug is easy to get to. From the right side pull off the breather hose at the valve cover and you can easily see the left plug cap and even with big hands like mine you can change the left plug from the right side! It took me a while myself to figure this is the easiest way(at least for me) since I do this on a regular basis! OPT

Good info. I am assuming you are using a lift table?

I did mine on the garage floor(no lift/table) and was able to do it without taking anything other than the side panels off.

SWITZ et al, (to explain a little further)

I have done this b4 last year and it was a PITA! When I heard about the gas tank
removal technique I then realized the way I did it wasn't the most robust. So I.E. this thread. But OPT is saying to try from the gear shifter side, I think I remember considering
that but it "seemed" too egregious to do.

Cool, I'll keep ya all posted (no pun),lol

Thx,

R'

It was a pain! Think I went in from the gear shifter on the one side. I know there was a lot of practice on my "trucker-mouth" training that day-lol

My carb was messed up for quite a while and I had to change my plugs a handful of times before I finally got it all right.

Got pretty good at changing plugs, as mentioned just use the tool that came in the kit and remove the panel. Takes some dexterity, but you should be able to get the left side out in a matter of minutes. Slip a screw driver in the hole of the socket and you can turn it about a 1/4 turn. If I recall right you have to than lift the socket back up and do that same thing a few times before you can get it by hand.
