Default Need to change the cv boot, need the clamp tool?

Is there another common tool to install the polaris OEM boot clamps or do I need the clamp tool? Why would hose clamps not work also?

You could use hose clamps or even a zip tie but you can go to most any auto parts store and get a clamp tool for pretty cheap and then it's done right.

There is usaully an issue with clearance of the screw tightener when you use a regular hose clamp. I would spend the $15 and buy a cheap banding tool. Unfortunately you will probably need it again. you can try with a pair of pliers but for me i went and bought the tool...

As said the tool is well worth it...You can use better bands(if your not using oem parts) and then it is done correct...

Default C.V.tool made easy...

Here is a tool I had and used a die grinder at work to make it work on the Polaris clamps.....Same as the one you buy!!

You may want to put this up in the sticky post due to the fact every time I see a post on here(about C.V replacement) they ask about the tool needed.....

This is just a simple crimp tool that the tips were made to fit into the earless clamps........Works great......the tool here in Canada is around $40.00-$50.00.
....Caper.........

Thanks for the tip, I,m from Ontario Canada dont think I want to buy the tool for $40-50 ,the dealer says they would charge me that much for labour (1/2 hour) if i brought the ATV in.
