Default Easy Homemade C.V. clamp tool.......

Here is a tool that is very simple to make from any factory Electrical wire cutter/clamp tool.
I just took a die grinder at work and made the tips for the Factory Polaris clamps.....

You may want to add this on top with the sticky or with the C.V. replacement forum Sticky.
The factory crimp tool here in Canada costs about $40.00- $50.00 to buy..

Here are two pics. Hope this will help anyone out that needs to know what the tool looks like.
It's the same as the one you buy ........Caper......

Them are great "back yard" tools, but if you get the Moose boot band, you need the other tool

I called my Polaris dealership and they put me on with a mechanic and he told me they would charge 1/2 hour labour $40+ tax to change my rear inner boot. Might be one of the few times I will let them do something for me.

Well me with two Sp 450's and a total of 16 C.V. boots ...........I wanted a tool ......
After the years it will add up very Quick if I go to the dealer for every C.V boot that is torn...........Plus I can get it done right away..Not phone call , appointment, waiting to fit you in their busy day, loading/unloading, driving there and back.........
It will all add up............Caper........

Thats a good question, I did not bother to ask them when they quoted me $25 over the phone, are aftermarket boots not as good as OEM?

I just bought two from Royal 19.99 each..............In the process of putting on on my wife's now(it's apart)..I will let you know if you want..
However I do know the two clamps that come with the aftermarket ones are different.

I may still use the old factory clamps on the new aftermarket boot.(if they fit)
Your dealer there ,...do they carry anything else other than Polaris toys?
If so it may have been a aftermarket one they priced you.
.....Caper.
