I am still trying to get a secondhand exhaust for my 400L 4X4 - W948140 and given the freight to Australia will be $100 or so I want to be sure I get the correct one.

My Bike Bandit part is 963478 [discontinued] and very rare to find one on ebay, but there are others eg 98 Explorer [963520] that look identical in every respect to mine from the ebay photos [or maybe a support lug or heat shield is different in some].

Question is, have some of these numbers just been changed for the heck of it or are there good reasons [eg different diameter flange to engine] why I shouldn't buy one of these.

my old system is like Swiss cheese with holes patched up all over and I don't think I will get more than 6 months out of it so I am seriously trying to find a replacement. I have already bought the U shaped header pipe so just after the [huge, heavy] muffler part
