Default 500HO vs 550XP??

Hi All,

After doing some hands on research, I have some more questions.

I looked at a 500HO, then went and looked at an Outlander 400, and after I got the price, a 550XP non EPS can be had for significantly less money. Has anyone on here gone from a 500HO to a 550XP (NON EPS)? Is the 550 really a whole different machine? Better on trails, hauling, roads?

Any issues with the EFI? Electrical issues?? How many miles/hours??

Sorry for all the questions, but I do not want to be wondering if I should have stepped up to the XP first hand.

I will make the final decision when I buy.

I would go with the XP its a better riding machine with a much better design. The frame is different the radiator is where it should be and they did away with the macpherson struts(two ball joints are better than one).

I've test ridden the 550 and all I can say is it's night and day to my 500 which is still considered a great machine IMO. My next quad will definitely be an XP. Although within a couple years from now I don't expect to see the standard sportsman available anymore since the XP design is far superior in about everything. Just mt 2 cents

The XP550 must be the most exspensive mid bore ATV I have seen, Our dealer sells Arctic Cat,Suzuki
and Polaris. They were selling a AC 550 for Almost $2000 less then a XP550 and a Sportsman 800 annd 750 King Quad for $200 less than the XP550!

XP550 only has a 4 hp advantage on the 500H.O and a 10 hp disadvantage over the 800 and 750 with a $2000 differance in price between it and the 500H.O

Id take the 750 KQ over the XP550 for the same money any day.

I DO NOT NEED 750CC. Where are you located? You ever price an Outlander??

What does Suzuki offer that is inline and NO BIGGER CC wise than a 550XP NON EPS?? NO EPS, Liquid cooled, and CVT/PVT, and available in RED. My Can am dealer sells them too.

I don't need a 750 either, but I will take one a big bore if its the same price as a Mid bore ATV.

I may want a mid size Ford Ranger pick up truck but I will not buy one if they sell a full size F-250 for same price.

Yes Can Am our outrageously price up here as well.

I can make a fast ATV go slow but not a slow ATV go fast.

The KQ500 is the same ATV as the 750 just a different motor. They have all the features,EFI,IRS,true AWD diff lock and even a power steering option if you want.

The KQ 450AXI looks like a nice bike. May inquire.

That sounds like a nice one .Our dealer did not have a 450 or 500 but if the 750 sell for $200 less then the 550XP then the 450 must be much cheaper.

Displacement is not the only deciding factor for most intellagent people. Xp your paying for the best ride and steering in the atv market
