2003 Polaris Sportsman 90- Smoke
I recently purchased a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 90 in really good condition and not much use. I was wondering how much smoke is normal out of the exhaust when my daughter is riding it ? I'm not sure what type of two stroke oil the previous owner has in it but I'm still on his fill up. I plan on using Yamalube 2 stroke oil in it when it's time to fill. I'm not real familiar w/ how much smoke is normal from a two stroke like this. My other daughters quad is a 07 Suzuki LT 80 and it doesn't smoke as much as the Polaris. I am wondering if too much oil is mixing in the gas and if there is a adjustment for it on the carb somewhere? When it is running I can see a little oil like substance at the end of the exhaust pipe. Any help would be appreciated.

Take baffle out of muffler and clean it, it could be trying to stop up.....If it,s not removeable then may have to remove exhaust system and heat up with lite weight torch and heat up !alot of time mini quad don,t get rode hard and exhaust get gummed up.... most of the time this is caused by bad quality oil....Good Luck....P.S this is only my opinion thou....
