Default 700 EFI can I usee an 800 belt?

I have a EPI Clutch kit and few guys I went riding with said I should put the 800EFI belt in that it will hold up much better with the added torque from the EPI kit and Iwould see better performance

Any truth to this ?

All the Polaris belts are super tuff, uses the proper belt part number, the 700 and 800 may even use the same belt. ATV belts are made as tuff as Polaris sled belts that push twice the HP and rpm.

Just looked up the 2008s and the 500.700 and 800 all use the same 3211113 Polaris belt as it is.

The Belt material is the same on the Polaris they just have different belts because of Primary and secondary clutch spacing change and some ATVs have EBS or ADC and others not. But the belt on the Sportsman 300 is as strong as a XP850s material wise.

I see that,thats odd.

Its not a strength reason i,m sure, the 2008 800efi
3211113 belt only retails for $60 and sells for $46 OEM motorcycle and ATV parts from Honda, Yamaha & Polaris – Cycle Parts Warehouse and as far as I know the 08 800 has the same power as the 05.
