I was told by a person working at a station ...The truck and tanks in the ground only have The low grade and the high grade(ex 87 low 91 high) So 89 octance is the middle.............The mid grade is just a 50/50 mix of the two comming together...............Except for the Sunoco thats has the Ultra 94 here in Canada...........
Unless something has changed in the last 20 years you were told wrong! I worked at a service station turning wrenches and pumping gas for three years of my high school life. Every night at closing I had to go out and stick each of the tanks to get a reading on the level/gallons left. I distinctly remember three different tanks plus one diesel. Today that may be a different story though.
