Default 2009 rzr

I have a hole in rear cv boot, in addition at slow speed 5 mph or so there is a clicking noise...any thoughts what it could be...perhaps wheel bearing?? Any help would be appreciated.

Usually the clicking comes from a CV Joint. And more likely the one with the damaged boot. The hole in the boot will allow dirt and water into the joint and will normally damage it.

You can try cleaning the joint, install new grease, and a new boot and see if it clicks. Usually once it clicks its time to replace.

Default Cv joint

Thank for the reply...Is the joint easier to replace than a bearing... just curious?

I have never looked at a rzr but I think it should be close to the same as this.
chuck_raduenz gave a great brake-down in this post.

If the inner joint is clicking it could run for a long time before it goes. The outer one will not last long.

Replace junk parts and look into better protection for the CVs. Also avoid nasty logging trails with death spikes shooting up from the soil. It's just not worth it. There's lots of nasty terrain in the east from logging operations that will ruin CV boots in no time. If you ride in conditions like that you need to look into better protection (front and rear).

You don't want stuff breaking on you while you're 30 miles deep into the chit.

you can get a complete axle from the cv-man 1-800-338-2326 for less than the cv joint from polaris.
