Default flag mount

Can someone tell me where you have mounted a flat on a sportsman 500? We are heading out to the dunes this weekend and need to mount a flag. The only spot we can see is a hole in the plastic rack but do not know how good it will hold up. All of the other quads that I have owned have had a place for a flag but for some reason Polaris does not.

mount the flag to a receiver and plug it into the hitch.

We thought of that but the hitch is tucked under the rear rack enough that the flag will rub the rear rack and make the flag come up at an angle and will not hit the 10ft bar to get out on the dunes

Possibly get a piece of lighter tubeing that fits inside the receiver and have it cut long enough to clear the rear rack then mount Your flag to that or if You sportsman has the rack on it they make mounting devices that goes into the holes on the rack,You could get a couple of those and a piece of flat or angle iron, drill holes proper into the angle iron and mount the flag to that and then mount the whole works to the rack.

That is what I was thinking about doing, just checking to see what others have done.

That would work but you still need to buy a flag mount and we are going out this weekend to Silver Lake sand dunes. I already have flags so just trying to be cheap and do it myself

I used the right rear most hole on the rear rack with a large washer, has worked fine for three years.

x2 on this....... either that or take 2 large washers. a flat piece of steel. bolt the flat steel on the outer most lock and ride hole so the steel stick out over the edge of the rack and mount the flag to the steel. it wont go no where then.....

good luck
