What I don,t get is if there no steaming,no coolant in the oil and the garage floor is bone dry with no drips ,where can the coolant go?

Any air at all in the system will cause it to bubble out coolant bottle and can cause problems. Just food for thought! OPT
Correct. Many times they are not getting the system full to start with. It takes a while to do this right.

Also on a 700 sometimes the water pump will only leak when the engine is running at higher RPM.

Since it is only leaking when you are riding at higher speeds you are never aware it is leaking.

After you refill the coolant exactly as described above look at the weep hole while you hold the engine RPM up to check for leaks.

Sometimes it comes out is such a small stream it is hard to see.
