Tranny fluid pouring out

Tranny fluid pouring out
I had the bikes wheels and tires off today and figured while I had easy access I would pull the tranny check plug and see how the fluid is doing.
When I unscrewed the plug fluid came pouring out like it had too much.
It was the dark purple color and smelled good (not burnt)
Did I overfill originally or is it possible I got water in there.
The bike has been sitting for a couple days not driven so is it possible that if water got in there that the fluid is sitting on top and thats why it isnt chocolate milk.
I'm gonna run the bike later then check it again to see if the fluid color changes.
I'm hopping I just didn't have the bike level when I originally filled it so that it read full when in fact it was over.

I ran the bike for a minute in high and low. Checked the fluid again and it's still dark purple and still coming out. (not as fast as earlier)
I don't think it's over filled due to water. Am I correct that if there was water, it would change the color of the fluid.
I'm guessing what happened was I had the back end jacked up when I drained and filled it because I remember having the back tires off for access. I then overfilled due to the angle of the bike.
What do you guys think?

I think you are correct but to be sure just crack the drain plug and see if there is any water. Do not take the plug all the way out, just enough so a couple of drops come out and then you can have peace of mind about it. Always keep in mind to that the fluid will expand with temperature so if it is hot there will be more fluid than if the tranny is cold.
