Its crazy that we spend thousands on a quad and the manufacturer only gives us 2 small front guards made of plastic. I always wondered if anyone ever lost the rear brakes on the XP because something tore off the rear brake line. I was very happy when I installed my a arms to see that the lines were also fully protected now.

I remember reading something about the full CV guards filling up with snow and mud causing the boots to tear. Anyone have this problem?

the reason they dont have full boot guards is because they fill with mud and snow. If the mud/snow freezes and thaws around the axel it can break or pull it out of the diff. I have seen this more than once. so clean them out when your done

Most of my riding is done in the winter months in Wisconsin. Our quads come home just as clean as when we leave. I never had a problem with ice freezing up there.

Don,t the underneath part of the boot guards have "quarter" diameter size dilled holes into them to help with that?

Here is a pic of the Ricochet Armor kit for the XP with the holes you are talking about.

Yeah, that should keep the water and mud build up under control.

I sheared the bolts and clamps on all three brake lines in the first 100 miles on my XP

Gotta have the armor.
