Default 02 scrambler 4004x4 hub problem

I have a 02 scrambler 400 4x4.one side doesnt lock in 4x4.The other side I can barely pull the armature plate off the hub but bad side I can pull the plate fairly easy. Both sides read same ohms and volts.any ideas? there was metal shavings from the armature plate on bad side.??

I tried the entire hub, cage plate etc on other side, works fine.Is there a tight tolerance on the metal rings that the magnet sits in? I know those can wear on a Sportsman center diff.
