Default Anyone seen a problem with...

I am brand new to this forum but would like to find out if anyone has had any issues with burning belts on the newer Polaris when pulling brush hogs or doing some food plot work pulling implements?

I have a "96"400 Sportsman and it really is not designed to do this in my opinion.

Thanks for your help ahead of time.

Are you using low range? If you don't already know, when working the machine at slow speeds it is advised to use low range.

Using low range, if it doesn't have the traction to pull it will dig 4 holes in the ground before it burns a belt.

He is asking about the newer Polaris?
His Quad is a 1996. He must be wanted to buy a new one and thinking about belt issues, just like I did back in 2006, Just make sure you get one with low gear if you working the Quad with attchments.

Ditto on low range. I can pull my 14' trailer loaded all day long without issues. Replaced one belt in 1800 miles on my lifted/modded 05 800 and have yet to change a belt on my 09. My machines work/play a lot. Run tracks and plow all winter. My wheeler rarely sees high range.

I always use low range but how do you guys keep the suspension from bottoming out. When I hook up my trailer just to move it around the yard. ( to keep my truck from making ruts ) My SP500HO pulls great but bottoms out in no time its terrible.

I put the HD springs on as soon as I bought it,on the softest setting there like the stock springs on the stiffest setting. I tried the stiffest setting one time but its too stiff. Do you atleast have your spring set on the stiffest setting? I think the ATV comes set at the softest from the factory.
