Default 2004 Scrambler Tight Chain

I have just put a new chain on my 2004 Polaris Scrambler. The chain is factory 76 link chain. This chain is so tight we had to roll it on and now we have no room for adjustment. It is very very tight. Is this normal or do I have other options? Also does anyone know if this will hurt the bike?

If you have extra chain links and a chain breaker you could add more. Not sure, but I thought they had 80 links in them.

The chain could snap and nothing bad happen, or it could take out the engine case when it goes.

I looked in my manual and the part number was 76 link. I also counted my old chain and it had 76 links. I think I will get another link and add to it if that is possible.

Thanks for the information.

It should stretch some after riding it a bit, so plan on readjusting the tension again. I definitely wouldn't be jumping anything with the chain too tight.
