I have a 93’ 350L 4X4 and this season my 4-wheel drive has started acting up and not engaging all the time. I can start using it to plow or whatever but eventually the front wheels will just not be willing to engage. But after some time the wheels may engage, usually after switching in and out of drive and some pushing of the 4X4 button. I haven’t gotten to check the fluid or connectors yet but just wanted to see if anyone had the same experience and knew what was up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have a light that lights up when you are in 4wd, does the light stay on and the wheels not engage or is the light out and no 4wd. If the light is out and no 4wd and you have light on in high it is probablly the switch in the tranny that is bad. I don't know the pinouts on your machine or if you even have the same tranny as a 99 sp but if you short pin 1 and 3 the light should go on. I have fixed every problem on my machine with a pair of pliers, hot glue gun, and continuity tester and am thinking of starting up a repair shop for these machines as it seems everyone is intimidated by them.

Maul350,

That sounds like a good idea. I think you should start up a repair shop for these machines. I don't know what it is like where u live, but unless you are sure you'll get alot of business, I'd stick to keeping it part time for a while, and then hiring people.

ck voltage output,if it low the 4wd wont work right.
hold throttle off idle.use a volt meter across batt terms, + - should be above 13 volts.
