2003 sportsman 4x4

all gauges work except the speedometer. Do I need a new cable or could something else be wrong. can mud stop up the cable? thanks

 

The speedo is electric not cable operated, If the AWD still is working on the ATV then the "Hall Effect" sensor by the right front brake rotor is shot or the wire from the sensor has a bad connection to the speedo. TLC has gotten it correct, common problem.

 

mine whent out the odo, speedometer stoped working the rest worked. you can test the speed sensor.
