Default Changing SP800 Fluids

I need to go through and change the fluids on my 05’ 800. This is my first quad and I don’t know if any of them have ever been changed. I’m fairly mechanically inclined but I’m looking for some guidance on what fluids to actually use. I know I can go to the dealership and spend a fortune on all the specific Polaris fluids but I have no doubt there are equivalent fluids for most everything. I understand that there isn’t a substitute for the Premium Demand Drive Hub Fluid that goes in the front gear housing. All that being said, I’ve found a document floating around that goes over what Polaris recommends and what people use and I wanted to run it by you all and see if there were different thoughts or ideas. I’m not worried about the brake fluid or the coolant, as I know what to use.

Engine oil and Filter- I’m using 10w40 Mobile One Full Synthetic and Polaris filter
Transmission- Read that you can use DEXRON/Synthetic all purpose Transmission fluid
Rear Gear Case- Read that you can use Quality Synthetic 80w-90 gear oil
Front Hubs- Read that you can use Type F Transmission Fluid
Grease- I understand you use any ALL Weather Grease

Is there both a front gear case and a front gear housing? If so, I understand that you can use 80W-90 synthetic gear lube.

I’m open to everyone’s thoughts and ideas. Also, please let me know if I’ve missed anything. Thanks in advance.

you MUST use the correct front end oil to avoid major issues w/ the awd. the hillard clutches are very finicky about what type of oil they need to operate correclty.

Kerbbirds- By Mobile 1 for the tranny do you mean synthetic motor oil? Same weight as the motor or do you mean another Mobile 1 fluid?

I'm glad to hear there isn't fluid in the hubs, I was getting that impression but wasnt sure.

Any good synthetic motor oil will also work fine in your trans. It is actually better than the crap Polaris sells for your trans.

How much of each of the fluids? I know the motor takes 2 quarts.
