I have worked on a ton of carbs in my life and with exception of my street bike (Royal Star 1300) I have never messed with pilots. All of my quads, Quadracer, Foreman, Prairie, Artic Cat 650 and now Sportsman 700, I have modified all of them and had to richen the mains but never touched pilots and never had a problem. Its not often that I cruise at 1/4 throttle, its either idle or 1/2 - full throttle all the time so Pilots don't make any difference.

Unless you like to (put put), pilots don't do much. You can always lower the needle clip one postion or install a .020 shim under it to get the 1/4 throttle change.
