Also, where is the best place to get the oil/filter from. Thanks in Advance
I have not spent $350 to $400 dollars at my dealer since I bought the machine 3 years or 9000 miles ago . Just watch that good vid use the proper fluids and your good to go but remember you will need to change all the fluids not just the oil . Once you do it once next time will be faster and the third time will be a snap . You could even spend some of that money your saving and buy a Polaris Shop Manual which your have for future reference and repairs .

Hate to tell you "Spdecat" but the 500 H.Os (Carb) still have a ECM/ECU since 2004.5.

9000miles in just 3 years! We only have $7500 on our 1997 SP500

Part#1 OEM motorcycle and ATV parts from Honda, Yamaha & Polaris – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Back to topic, All the Fluids ,filters are easy to change on the 500. Even if my dealer offered to do it for free labor,it would be a hassle just to transport drop the ATV off and pick it back up again.

I'm thinking of using mobil 1 0W40 next oil change. Anyone have some common part numbers handy for oil filters for an 09 500 ho?

You may want to read through this to save money. Make a list of common numbers we need

The fuji 500 motor never changed so do not worry about the year of the ATVs.

I use a Fram CPH6607 but there are many, many more.

$350 to $400 for a service. Your dealer is a criminal SOB. About 30 to 40 dollars worth of fluids and a filter and at the most one hour labor.

I wish I could make money like that but if I had to do it so dishonestly I will not do it.

It's called a PDM don't scare me with those three letters ( ECM/ECU) . What ever it has I'm happy with it as it's ran and been problem free for 9000miles and I'v never seen a code

They call the brain box my beast has a PDM or Power Distribution Module as per the Polaris shop manual that I have . Only time a ECM/ECU is mentioned is when there referring to the EFI models that I'm happy I don't have .

Why would a carbed ATV need a Computer? or its just for the digital dash stuff?
