Sanding out scratches?

If the paint has clear coat you can color sand and buff it. Be very careful not to go through the clear. If you do you will not be able to buff it out. When you sand a metalic paint it will turn very dark and have uneven paterns.

You are correct the scratches are deep, like about 36 grit, caused from road rash from a roll over. My main question was to ask if the colored green plastic could be sanded well below the surface and then buffed. It doesn't look like there is any paint or clear used on the plastic, rather the color is in the plastic, thus the question.

Scratches can be removed with a propane torch, no really i didn,t believe it till i saw it done on U TUBE. Goggle ---plastic welding---and on utube u will see it done.I tried it and it really worked well. u just have to take is slow'
