Default Superwinch question

I installed a 4500lb superwinch on my trailer. I accidentally plugged the handlebar switch wires into the contactor backwards. Will it hurt anyting to reverse the wires that bolt to the winch to make the switches work in the correct direction? It would be about 5 times as long to change the wires on the contactor because it is "buried". Thanks

Shouldn't hurt at all. Assuming there is only two connections on the winch motor.

All the contactor does is deal with the high amps, and sends the juice down either wire for in or out.

there is no reason you would have an issue. the contractor it just like 2 relays reversing power to the winch for in and out. just that if your switch says "in" your going out.

Thanks guys, I didn't think it would hurt anything but I wanted some reassurance before I did it.
