My point is to catch the thieves. I agree that they will probably be trashed and covered by insurance but the a-holes that took it upon themselves to take them need to spend some time behind bars and be held liable for the machines. Caught a guy a few years ago breaking into my ex's garage. Turns out he has spent a number of years doing time for stealing. Got 36 months in prison for that mistake. Bad luck on his part that I happened to be there and have almost 20 years of correctional, police, swat, and military training. Twisted him up like a pretzel. Told the arresting officers to let him know it was a good thing I caught him in her garage(nothing to even steal) and not mine because he would have been taking an ambulance ride before going to jail.

 

we have had bikes taken before and got them back and yes they were trashed.....but we was still able to sell the and make up some of the loss (took 3 450rs and got 2 back).....as with insurance there is always a deductable....
