Default 05 Sportsman Running Rough Help

My 05 Sportsman is running very rough. I feel very certain that it's a fuel issue. It wasn't idling at first but a ETC adjustment fixed that. The air box had fuel residue in it and on the filter and the other end of the breather hose did as well. I let it idle for about 30 minutes and when I turned it off I noticed a small cloud of smoke come out of the intake. When I hit the throttle it wants to bog down then rev up very roughly. I drove it and the rpms are high at low speeds in high gear. I was thinking a sensor or fuel filter perhaps? Seems to be dumping fuel. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well I'm trying to start with the easy things first...You sure your throttle cable isn't sticking and you said you adjusted it, is it adjusted properly with about 1/8" play...Is it EFI or carb and what model...

Yeah it's adjusted correctly. Its an 05 Sportsman 800efi, just like yours. I remember talking to the dealer about a flash for the bike, to make it run leaner, I'm thinking that may help. Any other thoughts? Thanks for your help.

Not sure I havent had the bike long and for the hours on it so low maybe never. Ive got it in the garage with no air filter on. Spit out a ball of fire when I gave it full throttle? Scared the hell out of me . I was going to bypass the fuel filter but it looks like thatd be difficult to do. I'm going to replace the air filter and I suppose the fuel filter, just not sure if thats the case. Thanks man

Ok check the wires going to your T bap sensor...It should be sending a code but just check them...They are very succeptible to breakage or the insulation wearing due to the vibration...I had to change mine last year...It's located on the rubber boot between the throttle body and the air box....

I'll check that I read that is common. Also I've got bubbling kind of like a boil inside the gas tank, i read somewhere about that but I'm going to look into it any clue?
