Default glacier II plow really does suck!!

i remember posts about the glacier II from last winter......i couldnt see what the big deal was...untill i used mine.....the bottom of the plow frame drags the ground....wtf....i have my shocks cranked up as high as they will go.......HAS ANYONE MODIFIED ONE??? after i plowed and cussed the darn thing i studied it and i think if i cut 1 TO 2 inches out of the downward tubes it will raise the bottom of the plow frame up off the ground.....and unless the plow frame sits pretty level you cant angle the blade or only 1 side of the blade will touch the ground...... thanks for letting me vent....any othe ideas???? please chime in

Have you checked your blade angle? Mine doesn't drag at all, perhaps the mount is for a hawkeye and not a sportsman?

When I first got mine it didn't work at all, turns out the hawkeye fram and not the sportsman frame...

well i removed the plow frame and took the blade off and i cut 1 1/2 inches out of the 1x2 tube that runs up and down just below the mount plate.....welded it back to gether and reinstalled on the bike ......now the bottom on the push tubes is level with the ground....it still only sits about 2 inches off the ground but it doesnt drag anymoore either......

I do have HD front springs if that makes a difference.

curious as to whats different on yours? Don't have any clearance issues what so ever with my 500 with no spacers or heavy duty springs.

Mine also looks like the one in the picture. I have no problems at all. I have even plowed some black dirt last summer with it.
