Default Sticky caliper piston?

Do I have a sticky caliber piston? My left front wheel had a lot of resistance, so I removed the wheel for inspection. Brake was grabbing, so I adjusted it with the Allen nut. Turned freely, but I hit the brake handle, released, and it went back to grabbing. I can pick it loose with a screwdriver.

If so, do I have to replace the while caliber? Brakes are almost new (done a few years ago, but not a fat lot if use).

Thats what it sounds like to me. If the piston is not stuck and is aluminum, you might be able to rebuild it.

If I were you I would try taking the pads off pushing the brake to expose a good bit of the pistons then while someone holds the lever down sand them with 400 wet sand paper. Over time the pistons get either rusty or a build up of crud to make them catch. 9 out of 10 times sanding them will make them work just fine.

That does work sometimes.

I would take the caliper apart and use caliper grease on the guide pins...Moisture will sometimes cause them to seize...Bleed them also...
