Which would be better the 2010 500 h.o or a 2009 yamaha grizzly 450?

Here is a couple of shootouts with both ATVs. 4x4 ATVs Comparison Test Report - What's the Best 500 Utility ATV?

Seems like the 500 is just more machine.
The years are different but since both ATVs never really changed over the years in any way, its still gives you a idea.

Thanks TLC for the link. Do you think I should spend a little more money for the efi model?

The 500 H.O never was a EFI they did make a Sportsman 500 EFI for a short time they just did not call it a H.O.
The 450 Grizzly never was a efi and still is a carb model to this day.

I rode with a person with a 500 efi and we changed ATVs a few times and we could not tell the difference while riding in power or acceration.
The efi just did not need choke to warm up for the first ride of the day so it seemed like no big deal to me.
Once the my ATV was warmed up for the first ride I do not need choke for the rest of the day anyways.

I have a 500 EFI and it says H.O. on it too. I think it's 1.5 more HP than the 500 H.O. carb model. Very close to the same anyway.

Looks like the 500EFI was only made from 2006 to 2009 2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI ATVs

This site for some reason calls the carbed 500 a H.O and the other just 500EFI. 2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI ATVs.
Looks like the 500EFI model also gets larger 26" tires vs the 500 H.O's 25".

Hmm I wonder if that guy knows very much about his atv?

Thanks again TLC, I don't think I will be able to go today to look at the 500 h.o.

I have 2008 honda 500 es, do you think I will like the Polaris better?

I have ridden a 450 Grizz, it was one of my choices when buying. I found it too small, went Polaris as 550 Grizz was too expensive.
