Default need some more advise.

1996 polaris sportsman 500. have replaced the cam and rocker arms. that solved the backfire problem. thanks for all the help with that. now, it wont rev up. well, it will if you keep the throttle open all the way and wait. but it wont rev up right away. cleaned the carb, and reset. it eventually goes, and runs great when it does. also, when i put the airbox on, it gets worse.
any thoughts.

if it gets worse w/ the air box it sounds like you have it running too rich.

First off NOTHING with a CV carb will run correctly with the air box off. The air box must be on, the air filter installed and the lid one or they will barely move.

Also are you sure you got the cam in time?

Default What accessories to buy first

Well I just bought momma bear a 2010 sportsman 550eps which means the 06 800 sportsman is mine finally, got tired of a 5 speed manual 4x4.

I already relocated the radiator, 589's on stock rims (27" on 12"). I want a little more kick on the bike. What sould I buy next?
$3-400 for a clutch kit is a little much, cant I just put a different color polaris spring in for a little more jump in it? or go with a clutch kit? dont care for top end, if I want speed ill ride my sons trx700xx.

Is there an aftermarket air box/filter combo that adds anything (its not snorkled and dont really plan to) I dont like how the stock box has a bend to it and not well sealed even with silicone.

Anyother suggestions let me know.

will be buying tires for her new bike but not sure yet which type.

Thanks

cant do much with the 800 airbox, with those tires you might try a green spring in the primary, if its too much try a white it will be closer to stock which is blue

ok, i must be doing something wrong. took carb off and cleaned, reset to specs. but, when you run it with the shop door closed it burns your eyes. still not reving up right. i am having a terrible time trying to find a rebuild kit. but i thought i cleaned everything . did i miss something in the carb.
