Olav is big into the dragracing scene, be it snowmobiles or ATV's.He's out there on a regular basis racing and testing new things at the track. It seemed like back in the day when I would call his shop trying to pick his brain for tips, tricks and advice I would spend more time talking with his wife about how he was doing at the races...LOL.

The video is on the newer machines that use a roller clutch and dont need to be pre loaded. If you can find a video on the older Polaris snowmobiles 2003 and older the clutch looks a little different but is the exact same way to preload it.

the dalton primary showed up today. i installed it along with 10MB weights. and the results are as follows
-it takes more throttle to get moving. im guessing thats from the dalton blk/wht spring. i have the cover off and i watch the rotation of the clutchs. i think the primary is sticking a little.
-off the bottom end it pulls good then it stops accelerating. not really hitting a wall just kinda goes soft. im doubtful that having the secondary preloaded only a 1/4 turn and not 1/3 is causing this. then again i dont know all that much about them so anything is possible. if it was wound the wrong way i wouldnt think it would take off as well as it does.

if its wound wrong or not enough it will make a big difference, it also depends on elevation as to which holes the sprig ends go in ,

you will have clutch upside down to work on it,I mark the slot on the splines with a sharpy , need to turn the helix 1/3 of a turn clockwise to pre- load spring , there are 3 ramps on it, it can be a littlte tough , works better with a buddy to help
