Default 2005 Polaris 700 Front diff engaging with switch off.

Wondering if anyone has had problems with the front diff engaging when the rear wheels are spinning. I started noticing it a few months ago. We just had some snow and while playing I noticed the front starting to engage. I wasn't spinning the rear wheel fast but you could tell when the front started pulling. I Have only put about 75 miles on it since I changed the fluid. Is this a sign that I am having problems with the Hilliard hubs?

what fluid did you use...those front difs are very touchy as to the correct fluid...I always use the Polaris Demand Drive Fluid for that...That's the only Polaris fluid I use ...But Kerbbirds is probably correct...

The 700 do not have the locking hubs, they have the newer locking front diff which are notorious for breaking there plastic roller cages.

There are stronger metal aftermarket roller cages available.

that looks like the shorter fatter one that are in the 07 and up models you can get aluminum for those years however i have not been able to find an aluminum on for my 05 so if anyone knows where to find one that would be great, have replaced that plastic junk 3 times in a little over a year and thanks to the forum i have bought the john deere on the last two times for 70 bucks instead of the 300 for the polaris one
