I turned a 96 into a High/Low/ Reverse machine since there gearcases were the same as far as mounting directly in. It sucked to be honest getting everything else done. Works well, but not a lot of fun to do.
My thoughts on your question however are that those two geacases are completely different and would take a lot of fabrication to get it to fit. Not to mention if your looking for 4wd, your going to have to change a LOT to get axles, hubs, wiring, etc. Sounds like a LOT of hassle to me.
