Default Drivetrain swap

Will the drivetrain off of a '95 400L 4x4 fit on the frame of a '99 sport 400 2wd. I was thinking of making a scrambler, if the wheelbases work out .

I turned a 96 into a High/Low/ Reverse machine since there gearcases were the same as far as mounting directly in. It sucked to be honest getting everything else done. Works well, but not a lot of fun to do.

My thoughts on your question however are that those two geacases are completely different and would take a lot of fabrication to get it to fit. Not to mention if your looking for 4wd, your going to have to change a LOT to get axles, hubs, wiring, etc. Sounds like a LOT of hassle to me.

You would have to swap everything front susp, gear box etc. It would be cheaper to buy a scrambler and be done. Or a 99 xplorer for the hi-lo trans.
