how to read the vin number

how to read the vin number

I just bought what i was told to be a 2001 sportsman got the vin number but cant find how to read it ,thanks

are u sure the 10th digit is an X, thats usually the model year, its a 500 cc, do the plastics say HO on them under 500, any 500 after 2001 is a high output model

no theres no HO on and it looks like 2 xx i will check agine to make sure

Check this out. ATV VIN Number The year "X" means it was made in 1999.

p.s. I wouldn't leave my VIN up for the whole world to see.
