Winch install question
#11
I run a roller fairlead with my synthetic with no problems. but IMO the hawse would be better for the synthetic lines. I'll switch eventually.

I just finished the install on mine last night. I am not real crazy about the Cycle Country mount, but I guess they would all be about the same.
Two things I do not like.
1. I cannot see the cable. Since I can't see it, I cannot tell when I am almost out of line or if it is getting stacked on one side.
2. I had to do some cutting to get the plastic front lower grill to close. I had to take a grinding wheel and remove about 3/4" x 1/4" of plastic from each side as well as some various other spots. It was all on the bottom so it should be invisible, but it still bothers me cutting into a brand new ATV.
The only thing I feel is missing from the Warn XT30 winch is the part that goes in between the fairlead and the spool that winds the cable on evenly. My previous winch had this and I just assumed all winches did. I did not notice this until the first time I went to use it.
I think the wireless remote that came with it is great. It is a much better option than a wired remote which I would probably never use. I did wind up having to drill a few holes in the plastic for the receiver, but I guess I will get over it. I mounted it under the tray on the right side. I will try to get a picture up later in case anyone else runs into the same conundrum of where to mount it. I looked for about an hour and a half trying to find somewhere that I wouldn't have to cut.
