This kinda sucks.
I purchased the 850XP because I wanted the best thing on the market.

All my machines before have treated me well. Hopefully this one does also.
My Garage never gets colder that 35 mostly in the 39 40f range so this might also keep me safe.

i'm not sure what to think anymore, deerwagon says his popped as soon as he started it not sure if that was after it had run for a little bit or was the first startup of the day. mine happened when i started it and parked it on the trailer, i then shut it off and when i started it later that day and backed it off the trailer it blew the plug, i thought it warmed up enough but i was wrong. and if they can blow out the plug ideling how can you warm it up enough? hopefully they figure something out

I feel for you guys!! Spend the money on what's supposed to be one of the best atv's on the market and have all the issues. My bud bought a new 09 850XP holdover last year. At 30 miles the motor was blown. This was after the recalled breather was replaced after blowing out at 9 miles!!! Polaris did cover and install a new 2011 motor in the machine. But, all these issues on new machines?? Seems to me like they're overengineering! To be honest, I won't go out and buy a new machine even though I want one...I'll stick with my Xplorer that I can tear down in hours and rebuild quickly without issue. It sucks so many are having issues with these atv's.

I can't DOG the 850XP at all - even with this unfortunate incident...It's one bad machine. BTW - I spoke with the dealer and my machine may be covered by Polaris!!! 16 months after purchase!!! Will let you know the outcome.

i know the 09 year needs the new style which mine had when it blew the plug, but i can't figure out why it still froze if that was the supposed fix, also the guy from towns 11 model froze up can't be quite right yet, just have to be real careful when below freezing

Heck - I'm gonna start carrying a little pen torch to heat up the PCV before firing!

I wouldn't say that, my bud had the breather issues/replacement in May. Shortly after that the blown motor. Well above freezing temps.
