Silicone is your friend. It can seal around the handle but you can still use it if you put some oil or wax on to keep it from sticking on both sides.

 

If it's concaved in the case a Honda handle will more than likely work. That is how they are made; they have a ball on the end of the handle. They fit together like a valve and seat.

 

Sorry to input again, but why not just get the original piece. Parts shark has it for less than 25.00. As I said I got mine at a polaris dealer for less than 25.00. Any of the parts warehouses will have them Sure you can rig it but why? You might save 10.00, but is it really worth it. TonyT

 

A trip to the hardware store fixed it. Heavy nylon rope same diameter and I figured out how to take the handle apart. Made the rope a little longer as it was way too short from breaking before. Also I picked up enough extra to make another pull rope if it happens again . I'll just throw it in my truck since I have pull start only. Cost $2 for enough proper sized cord to make a new pull rope to replace the broken one and a spare for it and my other quad.

 

I was hoping the handle was the type you could take apart,doesnt make sense to sell a molded handle with a rope sealed to it, you would pretty much have to buy a new assembly every time it broke. Glad to hear you got it fixed, and for that cheap !!
