new bike issues, or just paranoid?

Just got the call from the dealer, first issue, the belt is toast. They said there are number burns and glazing on the belt. Polaris is denying warranty coverage, bastards. This is gonna be expensive....my dealer is pretty much forcing me to buy the belt from them because "we can't troubleshoot and confirm all is well without a new belt". WTF caused the belt burns is beyond me, I've been good to the bike, and it only has 13hrs on it.

thats bull any good dealer would cover the belt especially on a brand new machine, i would talk that over with your dealer, i'm not sure why your belt would be slipping alredy but i can tell you they need break in time just like everything else, maybe a bad belt it's strange that it happened but i haven't had an issue with the belt on my 09 or 11and the 09 has bigger than stock tires on it and hauls my 350 lb a$$ around so hopefully its something simple good luck and keep us posted

Just got her back and home, I have the old belt, its worn hard, actually has purple on it, I really don't know what i did to cause it but $220 lesson has been learned. Changing the belt on my own next time for $85 before I call the dealer.

i can't believe your dealer made you pay for that i would definately be expressing my displeasure and informing him that any dollars in the future will be going down the road along with any one else i could convince about how crappy they were about a warranty issue glad you got it fixed and hope it don't happen again

Sorry to hear about the bad belt...and having to pay for it.
Now you have to start all over again with break-in. Remember...NO WOT...
Just kidding...but I know it's hard not to do...believe me.
Good luck this time around...
