Default 08 Grizz to 2011 850XP???Did I make a mistake??

I just sold my 2008 Grizzly 700 EFI EPS and bought a 2011 850XP EPS. I noticed it idles a bit rough when cold so I started reading some threads to see if it was normal...
In the course of doing my research I came across a few issues on the 850's like fouling plugs, blown pcv's, needing reflash's etc....WHAT THE HELL??? I never had any issues with my Grizz and I'm starting to think I made a mistake. I can't believe Polaris wouldn't have fixed most of these issues since this thing has been built for a couple years but I've seen the same complaints on the 11's...How much is an extended warranty and do I need to switch plugs??

Your the only one who can determine if you made a mistake. Sounds like your getting excited for nothing. Every model Every manufacture has issues of some type. I'm not putting any brand down or sticking up for Polaris however the more serious post you see on here are far and few. You see frequency of them bc they get refreshed by pple's comments. That does not mean there is 100's of issues.

Don't be scared !

Don't fret. It goes all ways with all brands. The 850 is a good bike with a small handful of owners with a few problems, but I know of yamaha's, honda's, suzuki's etc. that also have their quirks. You were one of the many guy's that had great luck with your grizzly but there are a few out there who had bad experiences and those are almost always the horror stories you here about. Same goes for Polaris. I had a 02 polaris magnum for 9years that was absolutely bullet proof right up to the day I sold it this year. My 07 had a couple small issues that were fixed and been rock solid since.

I don't think you'll regret it.

I always have had pre-owned vehicles with issues needing to be fixed.
Bought an 08 Polaris brand new and had a few issues that needed fixing.
Didn't expect that!

These days I think more along the lines of proven vehicles and backup from the dealer or the brand!

When something goes Oops and it will in the long run. The quality and service of your dealer and brand is what keeps these vehicles running.

Ahh..I'm an idiot I spent some time on it today for the 1st time! Very Nice ride and power is fantastic compared to the Grizzly. Hopefully it's as reliable as the Grizzly was...Sorry for the premature rant

dont let it sit andd idle then shut it off, when you start it, let it warm up a minute then go ride it till it gets warmed up, the computer starts in a rich mode , it will foul the plugs if you dont get it warm before you shut it off, can get ngk plugs from Napa , part #6043, Ive got 600 miles on mine and havent fouled a plug , I did put ngk;s in it cause I dont like Champion

Yeah dude! The ride and handling are amazing!

As other folks have mentioned...just watch the slight issues these beasts have...and it will live up to your expectations.

Fouled plugs...IMO...are the fault of the (uninformed) rider. I prefer...and want my COLD engine to run rich...a good move on the part of Polaris engineers.

Enjoy!
