Here is a link to the actual tool that the dealer only has access to. It's supplied by SPX tools.
PU-48951 Boot clamp pliers for STEPLESS type bands
SPX Polaris - Detail: PU-48951 - CV BOOT CLAMP PLIERS (STEPLESS)

At 91 dollars it's not cheap but if enough buddies had sportsmans it would be worth the aggravation those clamps can cause.

We tried every tool we had in the shop before we broke down and got the tool,WELL worth the money if you do your own maintenance! Just wish I could remember the tool mfg, still think it might be Knipex, but could be wrong, bound to be cheaper than what we paid if you could get it direct?? OPT

FOUND EM! OETIKER.COM low profile(stepless clamps) Plier # 192 Item # 14100134. This is the pliers I had, don't know if cheaper than through Polaris dealers. Found some on e-bay,but don't look like the #192,look like the ones for crimping top clamps, don't have the double step jaws!. OPT
