ok here is my dilema, I have two xpress's one a 400 water cooled 2wd, and a 300 xpress nonwater cooled 2wd 4-wheeler. My question is my 400 has a place for crankcase oil, and a place for the transmisson oil. but the 300 only has one place near the front sprocket to put in oil. so what oil goes there. standard 30 weight oil or gear oil? Please help before I ruin my atv. thanks ahead of time.

 

The place on the 400 is for the counter balancer oil that lubes the c/b bearings and oil pump gear(30 wt oil or even 10/30 fine,holds about 75cc's oil) dipstick and fill hole under the carb.
On both machines its calls for AGL gearcase lubricant for the transmission. OR any lube for chain case transmissions,but I would stick with AGL

 

thank you that is what I was so confused about because the 300 didnt have the same places to put the same oil as the 400 lol so I was just making sure thanks.
