I would call first and see if the dealer has a replacement in stock. If he has to order, could take 3-5 working days normally unless you want to pay for expedited shipment! Have serial number handy for him to order and begin the warranty claim. Just for safeties sake,I would disconnect battery because of fire hazard that has occurred with some of the the faulty ecm modules. NOT all people who owned the affected machines brought them in for replacement ecms, I called a bunch of people MONTHS after the recall from the list I had, some had sold em,some just never brought em in! Yours could be one of these. They are still affected machines out there even after 6 years! As far as replacement, takes about 15 minutes, plus we always checked the fan and charging before we let em go(ran long enough for fan to kick on) total time about 1/2 hr. I replaced quite a few as customers waited. OPT

WE DIDN'T DO IT the dealer will say, neither will any one else, even IF you are sure gash wasn't there when you brought it in! On the other hand we have caught customers trying to get to us! We learned real quick to look over machines especially street bikes and note anything on repair order! At least your machine probably won't burn up as some have,BUT just make sure fan comes on,NO hot light and battery getting 14 volts when running, because I've even replaced some of the "improved" Sure Power modules. Hope yours will be a good one. OPT
