2 stroke oil question?

We do not, not all oil is made equal. We run nothing but Royal Purple in our 2 stroke quads, race quads as well as pit bikes. Remember its cheaper to run good, higher priced oils than to rebuild an engine. You really need a high ash content oil in that engine. DO NOT use a low ash formula

My 2003 400 has plenty of compression and power still factory built, but it has had VES Gold in it since it was brought home... yeah it's a little pricey but I'd rather spend a few extra bucks every month or two to help keep from rebuilding an almost 9 yr old 2-smoke... just my

I have never stuck a piston in my life and I run any oil I can get my hands on. Walmart, Kmart, Cheap Mart.......any Mart. Not only that but the engines I run are WOT most of the time and some are WOT all of the time.
On the other hand I have seen stuck pistons running the best oil man can buy with screwed up jetting.
I set it at 40 to 1; I get the jetting correct and go pound on it.
Just my 2 cents and with inflation it might be worth a dime.

Guess I just value my engines more than some. But then again we don't have run of the mill 2 stroke engines. We race ours and for that only the best will do. Guess changing my crank case oil before and after every race is an overkill? NO not really. Think of it like this. One of our 2 stroke 255cc 55HP engines cost about $2000.00 v/s a $12.00 quart of quality 2-stroke oil. I can buy lots of oil and not buy a engine this year. Yea for me. Saved big money by spending a little extra. Remember pay now or pay later
