the pull start on my polaris is hard to pull like its stuck. it wont turn at all. are those normally hard to pull? or is there something in there that could be stuck? i have an electric start too do i need my pull start if i can just use the electric? also if anyone could give me suggestions on good places to get good parts for a cheap price in the cincinnati area i would greatly appreciate it.

Mine were never really hard to pull. It's not a necessity, but if the electric start ever goes out, it's a really nice back up.

Ebay is a good place to look. Seems I've seen a few motorcycle parts places that were out of the Ohio area. Think they were further north of your area if I remember correctly. Can't say whether they had atv parts.

If its the old 93 model could be the ratchet or ratchet guide assembly locking the rope starter.Look at a diagram before tearing in to this one! Lot harder to work on the guts of this one than the later ones which are fairly simple. As far as oem parts check Cycle Parts Warehouse, cheaper on most parts than Cheap Cycle Parts

If it's rusty, maybe some PB Blaster would be a good try too.

i don't know about that blaster stuff, but for me, the best stuff i ever found for loosening stuck parts is AeroKroil. a whole lot better than WD-40...

The difference WD and aerokroil is about the same of that between aerokroil and PB Blaster. Aerokroil is like Seafoam's lubricant or Deep Kreep, but PB is the absolute best thing I've ever used to get something loose. IMO

We like a can of worms! I agree on the PB Blaster,BEST at getting to rusted, corroded parts.Almost broke a couple of my son's boat trailer lug nuts until I gave em a shot, let em sit 5 minutes, spun right off! Even use Blaster garage door lube, quietens the rollers, screw drive, cables, etc! Now if they will only pay me for my endorsement!!! OPT
