Default SP500 Overcharging Issue

Ok,Finially had a chance to check out a charging issue today.Did a load test on the battery 12.2v without load/w/load test 10.2v so the battery seems ok.At Idle I'm getting 13.1-13.8v, when revved up it will go to nearly 17 volts. I checked the voltage regulator connections as well as making sure the regulator had a good ground, also checked the battery connections and all other grounds.Seems the stator is putting out plenty of juice,I'm thinking voltage regulator? Anything else I should check?

Think you found your problem! I've had regulators not charge, under charge, and over charge almost to 18 volts! These usually dry up batteries pretty quick or cause em to boil acid out the vent tube usually staining the back of the clutch cover! OPT
